  • County Stand Plus Commonhall - £119

    Start your Boodles May Festival experience in the heart of the city centre. At Commonhall Street Social, you can indulgence in a full English breakfast washed down with a glass of refreshing presecco. A tipster will be on hand to give you some pointers for the day, which you can mark in your own copy of the Racing Post or racecard. After breakfast, it's a short walk down Watergate to the racecourse where you can enjoy Boodles May Festival from the County stand.  

  • County Concourse - £52

    The County Stand is Chester’s premier enclosure, overlooking the final furlong and the winning post. Being the most premier of badge choices, gents are requested to wear suits with collar and tie and for ladies, smart dress is suggested. With great views of the parade ring, this badge also permits access to the County champagne bar. County Long Room tickets cannot be purchased for the May festival. To get access to the long room a reserved seat badge must be purchased in addition to a county concourse badge – to upgrade call 01244 304 610.

  • Tattersalls - £36

    The Tattersalls Enclosure is the largest on the racecourse.

    Perfect for large groups, the ticket provides excellent views via the tiered covered terrace.

     Ticket holders have access to bars, catering concessions, chesterBet  as well as entry to the Paddock.  

    The dress code is smart casual but please note that shorts or sports wear (including trainers) are prohibited in this enclosure.

  • Dee Stand - £15

    The Dee Stand has a tiered, uncovered terrace and ground floor standing area.

    A  ticket for the Dee Stand provides access to catering, bars and betting.

    There is no strict dress code in this area.

  • Open Course - £10

    The Open Course is located in the centre of the race track.

    The perfect enclosure for families, with free children's entertainment (weather permittinng) for the little ones to enjoy.

    Guests are permitted to bring their own food/soft drinksfood into this area.

    Refreshment vendors and chesterBET are available on this course, however there isn't an ATM so we advise bringing cash with you.

    The dress code in this enclosure is more relaxed than our other areas.

  • The Final Furlong - £309

    The Final Furlong Restaurant is located within the Festival Village adjacent to the Chalets. After dining inside the restaurant you are able to stroll to the rails of the race track to watch the thrilling action in the final minutes of the races.  Private tables for the day accommodate up to 12 guests. To book raceday dining, please call 01244 304606.


  • Restaurant 1539 - from £195

    1539 offers contemporary British cooking with a focus on locally sourced produce. Expect modern dining with panoramic views of the racecourse.

    Package includes an admission badge, three-course choice menu and a glass of champagne on arrival.

    Our intimate dining experience, perfect for couples and small groups includes a County Stand admission badge, three-course menu,cash bar, race card, betting facilities, television viewing and access to County Long Room tiered seating*.

Boodles Ladies Day

Bringing style and elegance to the May Festival, the fashion stakes are raised for Boodles Ladies Day, the pinnacle of the social calendar.  Spot a celebrity or two while enjoying another afternoon of top class racing action, the highlight, The Huxley Stakes and the Chester Vase.  

We will be unable to post tickets purchased after Thursday 28th April 2016. Tickets will be kept for collection at the box office.

Cash Machine

During racedays, we have a number of ATM's available. These are located by the County Stand, the Leverhulme Stand, The Parade Ring and Tattersalls. There is a charge to use the machines, and a minimum withdrawl of £20 is required. An ATM is available all year round in the Holiday Inn Express, Chester Racecourse.


Children aged 17 and under are admitted free into all areas when accompanied by an adult. No tickets are necessary, however, children entering the County Enclosure or County Long Room require a junior badge which can be picked up from the box office on the day of racing.

There are a number of food and beverage outlets throughout the racecourse, serving a variety of food from across the world. 

Gate Opening Times

Gates open at 11.30am.


Parking is available onsite for £8 during racedays. This can be purchased in advance by calling the box office on 01244 304610.

Picnic Policy

We provide a Car Park Picnic Area, which is separate from the Open Course with rules regarding food and drink. This area is available to racegoers who have purchased Open Course tickets and Open Course Car Parking.  Within this area, you are welcome to bring a moderate amount of alcohol for your picnic on a raceday. Raceday Tours

Raceday tours can be purchased in conjunction with an advance County/Long Room badge or Tattersall ticket. Please contact the box office for more information on 01244 304610.

Road Closures

On racedays, road closures around the racecourse are normal to allow pedestrians safe entry to and exit from the racecourse. From the A5268, Watergate Street closes to vehicle approximately 1 and a half hours before racing. Following racing, Waterergate Street will remain closed for vehicles for up to 1 hour or until routes are clear of pedestrians. To access the racecourse by vehicles for parking, racegoers should use the A548, Sealand Road.
