Public Exhibition announcement of the Chester Race Company ‘Masterplan 2018’.

Chester Race Company unveiled a long-term strategic ‘Masterplan 2018’ to its shareholders at a meeting on Monday 15 January. Following the recent announcements regarding on-going works to the racecourse site, these plans detailed the intentions for development and improvements at Chester Racecourse in the coming years.

A public exhibition will now be held at Chester Racecourse on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 February between the hours of 12pm and 8pm, inviting members of the public to visit the Pavilion suite at the racecourse and view the proposals. Consultation is encouraged and visitors will be invited to express their views before the next round of planning applications are submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council in April 2018.

Chief Executive of Chester Race Company, Richard Thomas said:

“Our ‘Masterplan 2018’ represents a substantial commitment to the development of the Chester Racecourse site and we can apportion many additional benefits from this planned investment to the city of Chester and our local community. We have received positive feedback and support from our Shareholders and CWAC and now invite members of the public to play an integral part in this project through this consultation.”

A planning application for the demolition of the Watergate Inn submitted in January has now been approved and works have begun. The pub will be replaced with a new public entrance to the County enclosure through formal landscape and a feature canopy. All works will be completed in advance of the first meeting of Chester’s 2018 season on Wednesday 9 May 2018.
