In just a few short days, another fixture gets underway here at Chester Racecourse with Halewood Summer Saturday, on Saturday 10 June.

With brighter skies scheduled to grace the Roodee ahead of the weekend, we are all set to embrace the summer vibes! Why not socialise with friends and soak in all of the atmosphere a day's racing at Chester has to offer.

Gin Gin! Here are Halewood’s Favourite Gin Cocktails

Liverpool Gin Recipes:

French 75

25ml Liverpool Gin

2ml lemon juice

10m gomme

Sparkling wine


Shake and strain the gin, lemon juice and gomme into a chilled flute. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.


25ml Liverpool Gin

25ml fresh lemon juice

10ml sugar syrup

10ml crème de mure


Mix the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a rock glass over crushed ice. Drizzle over the cassis and garnish with a wedge of lemon and a blackberry.

Whitley Neill Gin Recipes:

Clover Club

50ml Whitley Neill Gin

25ml fresh lemon juice

15ml raspberry syrup

White of one egg


Shake hard and double strain into a chilled coupette. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest and a raspberry.



50ml Whitley Neill Gin

100ml Lamb & Watt Original Tonic Water


Add 50ml gin to a large balloon glass half-filled with ice. Top with tonic water and garnish with a wheel of orange.
