Chester Racecourse Unveils new Enclosure for Season Opener

In just a few short weeks, another season gets underway at Chester Racecourse and a new offering is nearing completion in time for the season opener, the showcase Boodles May Festival which takes place from Wednesday 4th – Friday 6th May.
With tickets for all fixtures at Chester Races in great demand, and racegoer expectations pitched equally as high, a new revamped ticket offering won’t leave visitors disappointed when they visit the picturesque course in 2016.
As winter turns to spring, gone are the sunshades of the former Finishing Post enclosure (located where its name suggests) and in its place a new ticketed enclosure, The Winning Post complete with a sleek contemporary canopy running 26 metres along the length of the racetrack.
In addition to the contours of the new contemporary canopy, additional weather cover is provided by a stunning open-plan structure, under which cedar cladding supports TVs and heaters for chilly summer days. It’s within this area that racegoers can socialise at their leisure on high poseur tables and stools overlooking the racetrack, enjoying an experience not dissimilar to that of a city hotspot.

Food and drink are as big a part of a day at the races, as big as the racing itself and this new concept won’t fail to exceed expectations with new look bars and food concessions, exclusive for Winning Post customers.  A custom designed vintage Citroen van will serve premium spirits and beers alongside Champagnes, complimented by street food concepts from across the globe.

‘The final 7 weeks before the start of any season is a busy time for the team and no more so than when we have a new offering or development.  What’s positive is that our facilities never stand still at Chester and we’re delighted to be able to provide another experience for racegoers visiting Chester in 2016,’ said Chester Chief Executive, Richard Thomas.
A badge for the Winning Post Enclosure with access to the County Enclosure and paddock start from £78 per person (prices vary across the season, check website for details).

Adjacent to the Winning Post, building works are also underway to create a new purpose-built facility for entertaining partners and sponsors on racedays. This new premium networking space will be limited to 60 corporate guests and will mirror that of an exclusive airport business lounge.  To compliment this new space, a viewing platform on the building’s roof will provide the perfect vantage point looking down the home straight and onto the Winning Post.

Tickets for the new Winning Post Enclosure and all other tickets for the Boodles May Festival can be purchased via our events pages or by calling the box office on 01244 304610.
