Chester Racecourse a Finalist for three 2016 RCA Showcase Awards

Chester Racecourse has been listed amongst the Finalists for three prestigious awards at the Racecourse Association’s annual Showcase & Awards event. Nominated in the Operational Excellence, Owners Experience and Racing Together Community & Corporate Social Responsibility categories, Chester Racecourse impressed the independent judging panel sufficiently to become one of a select number of finalists and will be hoping to be crowned winners at the award ceremony at Doncaster Racecourse on Thursday 17 November.

The Operational Excellence Award recognises exceptional delivery and behind the scenes initiatives that improve the operational performance and customer service at racecourses. For the Owners’ Experience Award, Racehorse Owners Association members were invited to demonstrate where racecourses have met and exceeded expectations relating to the raceday experience of racehorse owners. The final category rewards initiatives relating to the local community, environment or charitable causes. Submissions were asked to demonstrate how their community engagement programme has and continues to improve relationships with the local community through working with key stakeholders.

Chester Racecourse have worked continuously in the build up to and throughout the 2016 season to deliver an exceptional experience for all who visit the Racecourse, regardless of circumstance, by providing an optimum experience in the best possible facilities. In an effort to extend the reach of the Race Company into the wider local community, the Project 1000 initiative has already delivered beneficial results across many charities seeking much needed support across a variety of worthwhile causes.

Celebrating excellence and innovation on British Racecourses the RCA Showcase & Awards feature a daytime seminar with a variety of speakers from racing as well as other sports and leisure industries, before the awards ceremony in the evening.
The seventh edition of the RCA Showcase & Awards is supported by Moet Hennessey, and is as competitive as ever with racecourse submissions increasing by 10% to 77. There are ten main awards in total, covering all aspects of racecourse operation, with the ultimate goal of celebrating and rewarding initiatives which enhance the customer experience.
