Moss Bros, the retailer known for making men look amazing since 1851, partners with Chester Racecourse by sponsoring the ‘Moss Bros Handicap Stakes’ race for the first time at Ladies and Gents Evening on Friday 11th July 2014.
Keen to convey its heritage in a modern way, Moss Bros are proud to launch an interactive campaign exclusively for punters at this meeting. As official formalwear partner to the England Rugby League team, Moss Bros have invited top caps Chris Hill, Richie Myler, Stefan Ratchford and Joe Westerman down to the meeting to mingle with racegoers. All are encouraged to look out for the players who will be dressed in outfits that you might not necessarily expect from Moss Bros. Free gifts will be awarded to anyone taking a selfie with the players and posting to social media with the hashtag #SayNeighToGrey.
With a heritage born in 1851, Moss Bros have a long association with horse racing – a sport that transcends both age and geography, through attracting punters from a truly diverse background. Whereas historic associations with the racing have centred around morningwear, Moss Bros is aware that such formal occasions make up a small fraction of the racing calendar – believing that all racegoers can look amazing in our collections, irrespective of personality or pocket.
Commercial and Operations Director Jemima Bird said, ‘Many people still think that Moss Bros just sell plain, dark suits for the office – but this is not the case! We just knew that the England RFL team would look striking in the new Moss 1851 and Moss London collections and are delighted to be able to reveal these exclusively at Chester.’
“We are delighted to have entered into this partnership with Moss Bros," says Emma Blackmore, Head of Commercial, Chester Race Company. "Chester Race Company and Moss Bros share the same non-compromising standards and determination to maintain and enhance the values for which our two brands are famous throughout the country. In choosing the Moss Bespoke service, our senior management team have brought to Chester the look of contemporary tailoring, fit for today’s racegoer."
RFL Director of Performance and Coaching Jon Roberts said: “The partnership with a brand as prestigious as Moss Bros means the England players always look stylish off the field and I’m sure that will be the case at Chester when they help launch the new collections.”
