How to use Chester Bet

Our Chester Bet vendors are on hand every raceday to help you make the most of your experience.  Live information screens around the course are close to every betting position and give you an indication of how much you could win.

Odds are shown to a £1 stake, and are live estimates of the Racecourse Price (RP). The confirmed RP is generated as soon as the race finishes and the official result has been announced.

How to claim your winnings

Take your winning ticket to any Chester Bet terminal, where the operator will scan it and then pay out your winnings.

Away Betting

You can also bet on other race meetings taking place in the country on that day. Look out for information in the official Chester Racecard, on the raceday screens or speak to a member of the Chester Bet team on-site.

YANKEE 4 selections in a combination of doubles, trebles & an accumulator
EASY SIX Pick a horse to be placed in the last six races on the course that day

POLICY SECTION 1

PROTECTION OF THE YOUNG AND VULNERABLE

PART A THE YOUNG

Pro-active preventative measures will be taken to dissuade under 18’s from attempting to place a bet.

Measures will be taken to prevent under 18’s being able to bet at the point of sale.

Bets made by an under 18 will be void, win or lose.

Adults accompanied by an under 18 will be treated as if they are under 18.

Under 18 activity will be recorded.

The effectiveness of the policies with regard to under 18’s will be monitored.

Racecourse betting marketing will be sensitive to under 18 considerations.

Under 18’s will not be employed directly in the provision of betting or indirectly exposed to the provision of betting as a result of their employment.

PART B – THE VULNERABLE

Commitments will be kept to contribute to research into the prevention and treatment of gambling, public education on the risks of gambling and how to gamble safely as well as the identification and treatment of problem gamblers.

Information responsible gambling and problem gambling (access to help) will be made readily available to customers at the racecourse.

Staff will be trained to recognize the signs of problem gambling and to intervene appropriately.

Customers will be offered exclusion from gambling at the racecourse level.

POLICY SECTION 2

KEEPING CRIME OUT OF GAMBLING

Effect full compliance with the requirements in respect of the prevention and detection of money laundering in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Terrorism Act 2000.

The physical and financial operations will be designed to minimize the risk of attracting criminal behaviours.

Money lending on the racecourse is prohibited.

Any suspicion of cheating will be reported.

POLICY SECTION 3

FAIR AND OPEN GAMBLING

Betting rules will comply with legislation on unfair terms in consumer contracts.

The key elements of the betting contract will be clearly specified in the betting rules.

Rules will be clearly and adequately displayed.

Clear betting slips will be issued.

Rules will not be changed retrospectively.

A clear and fair dispute resolution procedure will be implemented.

Staff will be trained to be familiar with rules relative to betting.

Incentive/reward schemes will be proportionate to the type and level of customers gambling.

All advertising of betting products and services will be undertaken in a socially responsible manner.

Chester Race Company will ensure that the purpose for which its licence was granted is the primary gambling activity carried out from any premises that it operates from.

Chester Race Company will inform customers as to the status of customer funds upon Chester Race Company’s insolvency.

 

POLICY SECTION 4

STAFF COMPLIANCE

Only trained employees and other licensed individuals will take bets.

PML’s will be obtained for management function leaders.

All staff will be trained in compliance to an appropriate level.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE REGULATOR

A culture of openness and cooperative dealing with the Gambling Commission will be promoted.

Management will implement systems to ensure proper reporting.
