With the start of the Boodles May Festival just days away, preparations are well underway to deliver a prestigious, world class event and opener to the 2015 race season at Chester Racecourse.
Pre-sale demand for tickets has been high with Boodles Ladies Day on Thursday 6th May and Boodles City Day on Friday 8th May close to selling out. Tickets are currently available for all areas on Chester Cup Day on Wednesday 6th.
Race goers returning to the Roodee in May can look forward to a number of key improvements at the course, the most significant being a total refurbishment of the County Stand and Long Room which features new glass panelling to the roof, new bars, flooring and toilets using natural colours and textiles to create a contemporary look and feel.
The champagne garden and bar is also undergoing a luxurious transformation in time for the Boodles May Festival with a new bar and interior, a champagne chilling room to keep stock perfectly cooled and three individual champagne terraces adjacent to the parade ring. Sure to become sought after hot seats, the champagne terraces are partially enclosed by glass panels with individual seating, offering race goers a chance to sip on champagne as they view the horses on their way to the parade ring.
Looking ahead to the forthcoming season, Chester Race Company Chief Executive, Richard Thomas said: “The Boodles May Festival is our showcase event of the year and these important improvements to facilities at the course help to ensure we enhance the customer experience wherever possible. Its good news for race goers planning to visit us this May and, with demand for tickets already high, we encourage anyone wanting to join us for a great start to the season to book as soon as possible.”
