‘Frankie Ducktorri’ will represent Chester Race Company in this year’s renewal of the Halliwell Jones Duck Race in aid of the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Baby Grow Appeal this Saturday (20 September).
Chester’s entry aims not only to help raise funds for plans to re-build the hospital’s Neonatal unit, but has had its post-race value increased by the signature of the duck’s human counterpart, three-times Champion Flat Jockey and racing personality, Frankie Dettori.
Win or lose on Saturday, ‘Ducktorri’, a plastic duck painted in the Chester Race Company’s vibrant yellow and blue colours depicting Chester’s registered racing silks, will be privately auctioned to support the hospital’s campaign, aiming to raise £3million for the charity.
Following the race, details of the private auction will be released on the racecourse’s social media channels, giving race fans the opportunity to purchase a unique piece of racing memorabilia.
The Duck Race takes place on the River Dee on Saturday 20 September from 12noon.
